Muritala Ademola Salaudeen popularly known in the
music circles as Genius Muri Alabi Thunder was
born on August 5th, 1973 to Alhaji Tiamiyu
Salaudeen Orimadegun and Alhaja Mariamo
Salaudeen in Ajeromi Ifelodun Local Government,
Lagos State, although he is originally a native of Oje
Local Government Area in Oyo state.

He had is primary Education at the popular Arakan
barrack primary school and secondary school at
united Christian school Apapa Lagos. His love for
music made him drop out of school at the mid level
to concentrate fully on his passion and desire which
is music. This decision did not go down well with his
parents who threatened to disown him if he does not
return back to school. He left home at a very tender
age to live with his aunt who supported him all the
way to success.

In 1999 he signed a record deal with Mosebolatan
Music Label and he recorded his debut same year
titled Optimism. This record brought him into
limelight, and that saw him rise to become one of
Nigeria's most successful and patronized Fuji
Musician. His second Album titled Wanted was also
generally accepted by the ever critical Fuji fans
across the nation. His third record, Still Alive was a
true life story of the accident he had with his band
boys on his way back to Lagos after a show in
Ibadan, Oyo state. It is worthy to state categorically
that this fatal accident claim the life's of three of his
band boys. He was reported to have died in the fatal
accident when no news was forth coming about his
whereabouts after the fatal accident. Upon his
recovery, he did Still Alive to calm the nerves of his
fans worldwide who thought he died in the accident.

Thanks to his monster hit, GUDUGUDU which eulogizes his deep
knowledge and usage of the Yoruba language to pass positive
messages to the political class and the less privileged in the society. This
record is so appealing that multinational telecommunication companies
uses it for caller tones. Gudugudu made Muri thunder a diverse
multi-talented artist cutting across multi ethnic background.
In the year 2002, he went on his first ever hajj pilgrimage to the holy land of Mecca,
Saudi Arabia. On his return from the holy land he released another record titled Holy
land, his fourth record. This record was also another success and since then he has
released so many popular hit records such as Diaspora, A1, Okere London, Gbedu
fuji, Winner and Comforter, No shaking {which was a tribute to late Gbenga Adeboye
the funwontan exponent}, Ajiwere, Inspiration, Revolution, Cross over, Blessed boy,
Oro Kanka , Analysis , Unforgettable and Freestyle.


Today, barely 11 years after he stepped into the industry Muri Thunder stands not
only as one of the nation's most iconic act, but one of her most successful young
Fuji artist ever, and an inspiring contemporary singer across Africa – especially
since his plethora of awards both native titles and national awards..


From a young greenhorn, who leaved in Lagos all is life, barely able to make ends
meet and unable to afford studio sessions to complete a debut album, Muri thunder
has grown to become one of Nigeria’s most successful Fuji artistes, selling over 20
million copies of his records world wide and performing endlessly across the length
and breadth of the vast country and across west Africa (, Togo, Ghana, Senegal,
Niger, Burkina Faso , Libya, Ivory coast, Kenya) also perform across Europe and
Asia in united kingdom, Dublin, Bangkok, Beijing & Guarzo in china.

Legend and son with Mr. Fuji himself Dr. Sikiru Ayinde barrister, No more war with
Saheed Osupa, Aleoro with Alabi Paso wonder and the multiple award winner, 2face
idibia. The Request for collaboration has continue to pour in from all over Nigeria by
artistes who are fascinated by Muri Thunder’s vocal versatility and effortless delivery
of uncommon lyrics. The reason is obvious, according to Muri Thunder: “I don’t limit
myself to one style in terms of what I listen to and the music I make. I like to be
versatile. Growing up, I listened to Dr. Sikiru Ayinde Barrister, Sir Victor Uwaifo and
the legend of Afro beat music, fela Anikulapo Kuti.


Since the singer came across music in his early days in life, there's been no looking
back for him, Perhaps greatly influenced by the music genes his mother failed to put
to use. Muri thunder is happily married with wonderful children.
